Tour details :

Day 1: Agadir – Agdz

Your desert adventure begins with a morning departure at 08:30, heading east from Agadir. The first stop is the charming town of Taroudant, often called “little Marrakech,” where you can explore the historic medina and photograph its impressive city walls.

Continuing east, you’ll reach Taliouine, the heart of Morocco’s saffron-growing region, where you can learn about the cultivation of this prized spice at a small museum. The journey then takes you through the Tizi-n-Tighatine and Tizi-n-Ikhsane mountain passes, arriving in Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets. A visit to a local cooperative reveals the skill and dedication behind these intricate hand-woven pieces.

After lunch, the route follows the scenic Anti-Atlas Mountains, descending through the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass to Agdz, an oasis town known for its palm groves. You’ll spend the night in a guesthouse overlooking the Dra’a Valley, surrounded by endless palms and serene landscapes.

Day 2: Agdz – Merzouga

After breakfast, explore Kasbah Tamnougalt, the oldest kasbah in the Dra’a Valley, which still hosts a few families. You’ll pass through the remnants of the ancient Jewish Quarter, a glimpse into Morocco’s diverse cultural history.

The journey continues along the Dra’a Valley, crossing lush oases and the historic Caravans Road, with a stop in N’Qob for lunch. Driving through Alnif and Tazzarine, areas featured in the movie Babel, you finally arrive at the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

Upon arrival, settle into your desert camp, enjoy Moroccan tea and biscuits, and then embark on a camel trek across the towering dunes to watch a breathtaking desert sunset. Dinner at the camp is followed by an evening of traditional music and drumming around the fire. Your tent offers private facilities and cozy furnishings to ensure a comfortable night under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Dades Gorges

Wake early to witness the magical sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive among the dunes before returning to the paved road. Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, stop at the traditional khettarat, ancient underground irrigation channels ingeniously designed to conserve water in the desert.

Continue to the Todra Gorges, where you’ll have lunch and the chance to walk along the towering cliffs and gardens. From here, the journey winds through dramatic landscapes into the Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a comfortable guesthouse.

Day 4: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, travel through the Valley of Roses to Kel’aa M’Gouna, famous for its rose harvests. Visit a local cooperative to see how roses are transformed into high-quality cosmetic products.

Next, continue along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to the Skoura Oasis, stopping to explore the beautifully restored Kasbah Amredhil, a classic example of Moroccan adobe architecture. Enjoy lunch and some time to wander through the oasis before heading to Ouarzazate for your overnight stay.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Agadir

Begin your day with a visit to Ouarzazate’s film studios, where many blockbuster movies and TV series were filmed. From there, travel to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous backdrop for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

The journey back to Agadir offers scenic viewpoints and opportunities for photographs. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon, completing your unforgettable desert adventure.
