Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Begin your adventure with a morning pickup from Marrakech. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with panoramic views of valleys, mountains, and Berber villages.
Stop at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a historic Kasbah and iconic filming location. Continue toward Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, and then drive through the scenic Dades Valley. Enjoy the dramatic landscapes of cliffs, river valleys, and traditional villages before settling in for an overnight stay in the valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, depart the Dades Valley and travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” dotted with ancient mud-brick fortresses and lush palm oases. Stop at Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with towering cliffs, and take a short walk along the oasis stream.
Continue toward Merzouga, passing through small Berber villages and panoramic desert landscapes. Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Midelt – Marrakech
Begin the day with breakfast at the desert camp. Optionally, watch the sunrise over the dunes before departing Merzouga. Travel through the town of Rissani, the historic starting point of ancient caravan routes, then continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt to admire the scenic views and enjoy a short break.
Drive through the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary monkeys roam freely, before descending toward Marrakech. Arrive in the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable desert journey.
