Explore the bustling streets, narrow alleyways, and historic squares while absorbing the town’s unique blend of Moroccan and Spanish influences.
In the afternoon, journey through the scenic Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen, the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Stroll through the medina’s labyrinth of blue-painted streets and alleys, visiting landmarks such as the 14th-century kasbah, now an ethnographic museum, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the town. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and vibrant local culture before resting for the night.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
Leave Chefchaouen and descend from the Rif Mountains toward Morocco’s historical heart. The first stop is Volubilis, an ancient Roman settlement and one of Morocco’s most significant archaeological sites. Walk among the well-preserved mosaics, temples, triumphal arches, and columns, imagining life in the city during the Roman Empire.
Next, visit Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. Discover the city’s grand architecture, including monumental gates, royal palaces, and mosques from the era of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Highlights include the ornate Bab Mansour Gate and the sultan’s mausoleum, reflecting the city’s imperial heritage. Continue to Fes and enjoy a leisurely evening walk through the medina before resting.
