Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a gentle introduction to Morocco’s largest city. Casablanca blends modern life with historic charm, and you may have time to visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, beautifully located along the Atlantic Ocean. The remainder of the day is free to relax and recover from your journey.

Day 2: Casablanca – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, depart Casablanca toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. In Meknes, you will visit Bab Mansour, one of the most impressive gates in North Africa, El Hedim Square, and the ancient city walls built during the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. If time permits, a short visit to nearby Volubilis, the remarkably preserved Roman ruins, can be included. Continue the journey to Fes, passing through fertile plains and traditional villages. Arrival in Fes in the late afternoon and overnight in a riad or hotel.

Day 3: Guided City Tour of Fes

Today is dedicated to discovering Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and intellectual capital. With a knowledgeable local guide, explore the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali medina, home to over 9,000 narrow alleys. Highlights include Al Quaraouiyine University (the oldest university in the world), Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Attarine Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chouara Tanneries. You will also visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the Royal Palace gates, and enjoy panoramic views over the medina from a scenic viewpoint. The afternoon is free for personal exploration or relaxation.

Day 4: Fes – Middle Atlas – Erg Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga)

An early departure takes you south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” followed by a walk through the cedar forests of Azrou, where Barbary macaques live. Continue through Midelt and across the dramatic landscapes of the High Atlas plateau, stopping for lunch along the way. As you follow the Ziz Valley, admire thousands of palm trees and traditional ksour (fortified villages). In Merzouga, camels await to take you across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy sunset views, traditional Berber music, dinner, and an unforgettable overnight stay in a Sahara desert camp.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

Wake early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes before breakfast at the camp. Depart Merzouga toward Ouarzazate, passing through the town of Rissani, once a major caravan trading center. Continue to Todra Gorge, famous for its towering canyon walls carved by the Todra River, an ideal place for a short walk and photos. Travel through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its kasbahs and dramatic rock formations, before arriving in Ouarzazate. Check in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in this historic desert city.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, explore Ouarzazate, including a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah and, if desired, the Atlas Film Studios, where many famous movies were filmed. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a stunning earthen fortress that has appeared in films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the kasbah, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for panoramic views.
